There are significant delivery delays for just about everything at the moment.
Domestically, state border closures and COVID lockdowns are causing havoc with road freight. More people are ordering online instead of going to shops, increasing the number of parcels to be delivered. This and other factors are resulting in many of the domestic road freight deliveries being significantly delayed. Internationally, air freight couriers have traditionally relied heavily on the utilisation of commercial flights. A significant reduction in international flights means that this option is all but removed. The result is many importers are moving to sea freight instead. This has put huge pressure on the shipping companies to the point that there is literally a world-wide shortage of shipping containers right now. This all means that the lead time on just about everything coming in
from offshore is excessive.
Our team can only control up to the point that we place the order for your vehicle parts. As far as delivery is concerned, we are at the mercy of your vehicle’s manufacturer and their suppliers.
Most of our clients understand this, but lately our staff have unfairly felt the brunt of a number of our clients’ frustrations for issues that are completely outside of our control. We totally understand that you are feeling the pressure of being without your vehicle, but we also want everyone to know that our team are all working as hard as they can. It has got to the stage that some of the courier companies are getting so inundated with inquiries that they have literally turned off the ability for us to contact them. We are doing whatever we can, whenever we can, to help get things moving as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, to help relieve the pressure off everyone, we would highly recommend the following:
- Please Prepare – If you have an accident, you may face an elongated period where you may be without your vehicle or are waiting for your repairs to be able to commence.
- Review Your Insurance Policy – If you don’t already, consider adding extended hire car allowance to your policy to limit your inconvenience. We suggest, if it is offered, unlimited hire car duration. Your insurer won’t give you a hire car without it being included in your policy.
- Please Promote Empathy Towards Everyone – There are factors outside anyone’s control, and everyone is doing their very best at the moment, in a unique set of circumstances, not to let anyone down… From our own customer service team right through to the delivery driver that is dropping of your parts.
